16 photographers have contributed to the project (two in each of the eight partner towns). They adopted a shared approach in which they use all their creativity and expertise to compose photographs in partnership with migrants. The Encyclopedia of Migrants’ range of photographical styles is wide, spanning from documentarian to fine art. Each photographer created a series of 25 portraits, and the creative director for photography was Antoine Chaudet (from L’âge de la tortue).
16 social scientists contributed to The Encyclopedia of Migrants, each writing an article about migration from their point of view as researchers and using the resources which their respective disciplines offer them as urban socio-linguists, sociologists, historians, literature specialists, anthropologists, political scientists, economists and so on. The aim of these articles is to put migration in perspective using an academic outlook which prioritises a humanist approach to the issues at stake.
